He sent child support for his daughter's new school shoes — then saw her still wearing the same worn-out pair.
Every month, he sent money for his daughter.
This time, he even added extra.
Her mother told him she desperately needed new shoes for school.
So he transferred the money right away.
A week later, he went to pick up his daughter.
Then he looked down.
Same old shoes.
Worn soles.
Frayed edges.
One side was starting to split.
He crouched beside her.
"Sweetheart, didn't Mom buy your new shoes?"
His daughter looked confused.
"What new shoes?"
His stomach dropped.
He had receipts showing exactly how much money he had sent.
Then he noticed something else.
Her mother had fresh nails.
A new handbag.
And brand-new shoes of her own.
He didn't argue.
He simply took his daughter shopping himself.
But before they reached the store, she quietly told him something about the child support money that made him realize the shoes were only the beginning.
---
What did his daughter tell him before they even reached the store?
