June brought long, sun-drenched days and a welcome respite from academic pressures, transforming the estate into a lively hub of youth and creativity. Weekend barbecues and outdoor sketch sessions filled the afternoons, while late-night debates stretched under the stars. Yet, the outside world occasionally reminded them of the past they had left behind.

It was a sultry Tuesday afternoon when the brass front doorbell rang sharply. John, reviewing architectural blueprints in his study, stepped into the foyer as Martha moved to answer.

"I've got it," John said gently. He pulled the heavy oak door open, expecting a courier. Instead, standing on the stone porch was Richard Vance, the sharp-eyed corporate representative from Olivia’s past, holding a leather briefcase.

"Mr. Matthews, I presume," Vance smiled coldly. "I represent the trust associated with Olivia’s late uncle. We need to discuss urgent legal matters regarding her inheritance."

Before John could speak, footsteps echoed across the marble. Olivia appeared behind him, her face draining of color. The confident law student vanished for a second, replaced by the terrified teenager who had once hidden from corrupt guardians.

"Get off this property," Olivia’s voice shook with raw fury. She stepped past John, her hands balled into tight fists. "You have no right to come here. You have no right to speak to me."

John stepped firmly in front of Olivia, his towering frame cutting off Vance, his voice dropping into the icy register of a corporate titan. "You heard my daughter. You are trespassing. If you do not leave within sixty seconds, I will file a comprehensive restraining order for harassment. My legal team will crush your little trust into dust."

Vance’s smug expression flickered into shock. Realizing he was facing a man of immense power and protective fury, Vance backed away toward his luxury sedan. "This isn't over."

"No," John watched him coldly as the engine roared to life. "And if you ever come back, you won't make it past the gates."
