Norah showed the terrifying message to Enzo the exact second they pulled through the heavily fortified gates of the Rossy estate.

Enzo’s face darkened with absolute, unfiltered rage, and he immediately ordered a total lockdown of the perimeter.

Vincent was waiting on the front steps before the armored SUV even came to a complete stop.

He ripped the heavy door open, pulling Norah out of the vehicle and crushing her tightly against his broad, solid chest.

He buried his face in her neck, breathing in the scent of her skin as if he needed to prove to himself that she was actually alive.

"I am fine, Vincent, they didn't even get close to me," Norah whispered, wrapping her arms around his waist to calm his racing heart.

Vincent pulled away, his dark eyes burning with a lethal, terrifying violence that she had not seen since the night of the siege.

"Show me the message," Vincent commanded, holding out his hand to take her phone.

He stared at the photograph of his wife, the muscles in his jaw clenching so tightly that Norah thought his teeth might shatter.

"This angle was taken from the top floor of the Sterling building, a property owned by the Romanov syndicate," Vincent deduced coldly.

"They are a West Coast family, they have absolutely no business operating in my city."

He handed the phone to Enzo, gesturing toward the massive oak doors of the mansion.

"Put a team together, Enzo, we are going to send the Romanovs a message they will never forget," Vincent ordered.

Norah grabbed Vincent's arm, her financial mind working faster than her lingering panic.

"Wait, Vincent, the three million dollars missing from our shipping accounts was transferred to a shell company in Seattle," Norah revealed quickly.

Vincent stopped, looking down at her with a mixture of absolute pride and deep, dangerous realization.

"They aren't just watching you, Norah, they are funding a war against us using our own clean money," Vincent growled.

He led her into the grand foyer, the beautiful, sunlit space suddenly feeling very cold and dangerous.

"They know they cannot defeat me in a direct firefight, so they are trying to break my financial empire by targeting you."

Norah stood a little taller, refusing to let the terrifying reality force her back into the trembling maid she used to be.

"Then we trap them in the boardroom, not on the streets," Norah stated firmly, her voice carrying the absolute authority of a mafia queen.

Vincent smiled, a dark, predatory grin that promised absolute devastation to anyone who crossed them.
