Part 2 ⬇️
Vincent pulled the security footage within the hour.
The timestamp read 11:47 a.m.
— the exact window Clare had spent collecting towels from the upper floor.
Clear as anything.
A figure in a grey technician's uniform crouched beside the brace stand.
Gloved hands.
Deliberate movements.
Thirty seconds, no more.
Vincent's jaw tightened.
"That uniform isn't ours."
"I know," Dominic said.
"He walked in through the east service entrance.
Badge scanned clean."
"Whose badge?"
Vincent hesitated.
"Angela Pierce's."
The name hit the room like a stone dropped in still water.
Mercer went pale.
Clare pulled Ellie closer without thinking.
Dominic didn't raise his voice.
"Where is she now?"
"That's the problem." Vincent set the tablet down.
"She called in sick this morning.
First time in three years."
Dominic looked through the glass doors.
Arthur had retaken his seat at the conference table.
Calm.
Patient.
Pouring himself a glass of water like a man with nothing to hide.
Then Dominic's phone lit up on the side table.
Unknown number.
One message.
*"The brace was only meant to slow you down.
The documents on that table would have finished it.
Check page nine.
Bottom signature."*
Dominic looked at Vincent.
Vincent was already moving.
---
What Dominic found on page nine of those documents made his bl00d run c0ld — and it pointed to someone he never suspected.
