One year after Stella’s birth.

The autumn evening was warm and gentle. The famous 'E' in the Starlight Diner’s neon sign hummed softly, glowing bright blue against the twilight sky.

The diner was closed to the public for the night, reserved exclusively for a quiet family celebration.

Inside, sitting at booth 4, sat Roman, Sadi, and little Stella, who was now a bubbly, dark-haired toddler toddling around the reupholstered burgundy vinyl booth, laughing as she tried to stack plastic coffee cups.

Sadi sat beside Roman, dressed in a comfortable silk sweater, resting her head against his broad shoulder.

Roman held a silver pot, pouring fresh, steaming coffee into two ceramic mugs, a deep, serene peace settling over his soul.

"Still making the best cup of coffee in New York, Mr. Moretti?" Sadi teased gently, turning her head to kiss his sharp jawline.

Roman set the pot down, wrapped his heavy arm securely around her waist, and pulled her close against his side, while little Stella climbed onto his lap, giggling happily.

He looked out the window at the bright blue glow of the neon sign reflected in the quiet Brooklyn street. He had known power, money, and war; but sitting in this retro diner booth with his wife and daughter, he knew he had finally found his true empire.

"It's not the coffee, my Queen," Roman whispered softly, looking into Sadi’s dark, brilliant eyes with a love that would last a thousand lifetimes. "It's the woman sitting across from me."

Sadi smiled, holding his hand tightly beneath the table as their daughter babbled happily between them.

The debts were paid. The shadows were gone. And under the bright blue glow of the Starlight, the Mafia Boss, his brilliant Queen, and their little princess were home forever.
