When Stella turned sixteen and Leo reached fourteen, Roman took his family back to the ancestral Moretti estate in Taormina, Sicily—the estate he had converted into an international university and agricultural research center years ago.

The Mediterranean summer sun broke over the blue waters of the Ionian Sea, illuminating ancient olive groves and blooming bougainvillea flowers that draped over the stone villas.

The local community gathered in the central piazza to honor Roman and Sadi for funding fifty full university scholarships for Sicilian students.

Standing on the balcony of the restored stone estate overlooking the sea, Roman stood with his arm wrapped securely around Sadi’s waist.

Leo, now built almost as tall as his father, walked out onto the balcony wearing a crisp linen shirt. "Dad, the regional council wants to dedicate the new agricultural library in your name."

Roman smiled, looking at his son. "Tell them to put your mother's name on it, Leo. She's the one who wrote the endowment trust."

"Already handled, Dad," Leo chuckled softly, dark eyes gleaming with his father's sharp humor. "I told them The Sadi Vance-Moretti Library or nothing."

Sadi laughed warmly, resting her head against Roman’s chest. "You two are impossible."

As the evening breeze blew off the Mediterranean, Stella walked up the balcony stairs holding a sketchpad filled with architectural drawings for the new legal aid wing in Palermo.

"Mom," Stella said, showing her the drawings. "I reviewed the local property codes for the Palermo site. If we use a historic restoration easement, we can save thirty percent on construction taxes and double the size of the law library."

Sadi examined the drawings, her heart swelling with an overwhelming, profound sense of fulfillment.

The dark, violent history of the Moretti bloodline had been completely erased, replaced by a legacy of intellect, justice, and light that her children were now carrying forward into the future.
