The room went dead quiet as the footage played.

Every eye locked onto the screen.

There was Vanessa — clear as daylight — deliberately knocking the cup straight onto Mia's dress.

No accident.

No stumble.

A slow, deliberate move.

Then came the moment that made my stomach drop.

On the recording, just before it happened, Vanessa leaned toward the woman beside her and whispered something.

The woman nodded.

They both glanced at Mia and smiled.

She hadn't acted alone.

Adrian stepped forward, his voice low and controlled.

"Would you like to explain that, Vanessa?"

Vanessa's face drained of color.

"That's — that's not what it looks like."

"Then tell us what it looks like." He didn't raise his voice.

He didn't need to.

She opened her mouth.

Nothing came out.

That's when the woman beside her quietly tried to slip toward the exit.

"Stop." Adrian said it once.

The whole room heard it.

The woman froze.

I looked at her face — and realized I recognized her.

She wasn't just a guest.

She was someone who had been in our lives for years.

Someone I had trusted completely.

My hands started shaking.

Because if she was involved…

this wasn't a moment of jealousy at a birthday party.

This had been planned.
