"NO!

Please…

don't!"

Maria's scream echoed through the billionaire's mansion.

High above, looking down at the marble-floored grand hall, Vanessa Sterling stood behind the glass balcony railing, clutching eight-month-old Oliver to her chest.

The baby was crying.

Below, Maria—the family nanny—looked up in horror.

"Give him to me!" Maria pleaded.

Vanessa's expression remained chillingly calm.

"You should have kept your mouth shut."

Then, she let go.

"NO!"

Oliver fell.

Maria lunged to the spot directly beneath, arms outstretched.

She caught the baby—but the force of the impact sent her tumbling onto the polished floor.

Oliver was wailing.

Maria curled her body around him to shield him, weeping as she checked his face and tiny hands.

"You're okay…

I've got you."

Rapid footsteps sounded behind her.

Adrian Cole, Oliver's father, had just stepped into the mansion.

He froze.

His briefcase slipped from his hand.

His baby son was lying on the floor.

Maria was crying.

And Vanessa was standing there, looking down at them.

"What the hell happened?!"

Vanessa immediately pointed down at them.

"ADRIAN!

Maria dropped him!"

Maria's head snapped up.

"No!"

Adrian rushed toward his son.

"She's lying!" Maria shouted.

"I caught him!"

Vanessa hurried down the stairs.

"She's been acting unstable for weeks.

Fire her before she hurts him again!"

Adrian looked back and forth between the two women, torn between confusion and anger.

Then Maria whispered:

"Check the security cameras."

Vanessa froze.

Adrian noticed it.

"What?"

Maria held Oliver tighter.

"Your fiancée forgot there was a camera facing that balcony."

Vanessa suddenly bolted toward the hallway.

Adrian grabbed her wrist.

"Where do you think you're going?"

"Let go of me!"

"Not until I've seen that footage."

Ten minutes later, the security video was playing on the living room TV.

Adrian watched as Vanessa let go, causing his son to fall.

His face went pale.

"You intended to k*ll my child…"

"No!" Vanessa screamed.

"You don't understand!"

Adrian turned toward her.

"Then make me understand."

Vanessa stared at Maria.

Then, she suddenly smiled.

"Ask your precious nanny why she knew exactly where she needed to stand."

A heavy silence fell over the room.

Adrian slowly looked at Maria.

Maria's expression shifted.

Vanessa continued:

"She knew this was going to happen."

Adrian cried out in anguish:

"Maria?"

Tears welled up in the nanny's eyes.

"There's something I never told you."

"What is it?"

Maria reached into her pocket and placed a small USB drive on the table.

"Your late wife gave me this three days before she passed away."

Adrian seemed to hold his breath.

"My wife?"

---

What was on that USB drive — and what did Adrian's late wife know?
