One year later.

The summer sun shone brightly over the rolling hills of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.

On a private, sweeping estate overlooking the sparkling blue water, white roses lined a long aisle made of smooth white stone. Soft violin music drifted through the warm afternoon breeze, playing for a intimate gathering of our closest friends, colleagues, and family—including my grandmother, who sat weeping tears of joy in the front row.

At the altar stood Luca.

He wore a dark blue tuxedo, his dark hair styled perfectly, looking taller and handsomer than the day I had first met him over a decade ago. Beside him stood Eli as his best man, looking sharp in his matching suit, carrying a velvet ring box with utmost serious responsibility.

The music shifted to a breathtaking bridal march.

The crowd stood up.

Preceding me down the aisle was Mara, looking like an angel in a delicate lace flower-girl dress, tossing white rose petals from a woven basket with a brilliant, infectious smile.

Then, I stepped onto the aisle.

I wore an off-the-shoulder gown of pure white silk, featuring a dramatic train that flowed behind me like water. My heart hammered with overwhelming joy as my eyes locked onto Luca’s.

As I walked toward him, I saw tears shimmering in his dark eyes—the same eyes that had once looked at me with sorrow, but now held only profound, eternal devotion.

When I reached the altar, Luca stepped forward, taking both of my hands in his. His grip was warm, steady, and filled with a promise that would last a lifetime.

The minister smiled warmly at us. “Luca, please read your vows.”

Luca took a deep breath, looking deeply into my eyes.

“Nia,” Luca began, his voice thick with emotion. “Six years ago, I thought I knew what success meant. I thought it was built in glass towers, corporate acquisitions, and numbers on a ledger. But when I lost you, I realized that an empire without you was just a golden cage.”

He squeezed my hands gently.

“You gave me a second chance when I deserved nothing,” Luca continued, tears slipping down his cheek. “You brought me back to life, and you gave me the greatest gift a man could ever ask for—our beautiful children. I promise to protect you, to honor you, and to love you with every beat of my heart for as long as I live. You are my home, Nia. You have always been my home.”

I wiped a tear from my cheek, smiling through my tears as I spoke my vows.

“Luca,” I said softly. “We were broken by lies, separated by distance, and tested by pain. But love wasn't something that died when we walked away—it was simply waiting for us to find the truth. You proved to me that a real man fights for his family, no matter how hard the road is. I love you, Luca Moretti. Today, tomorrow, and forever.”

“By the power vested in me,” the minister declared with a bright smile, “I now pronounce you husband and wife again! You may kiss the bride!”

Luca didn't hesitate for a single second.

He pulled me into his arms, dipping me back slightly as he pressed his lips against mine in a deep, passionate, breathtaking kiss that sealed our rebirth.

The crowd erupted into joyous cheers and applause! Eli cheered loudly, while Mara clapped her hands and giggled.

When Luca pulled me up, he lifted Mara onto his hip and wrapped his other arm around Eli, pulling our entire family into one tight, unbroken embrace.

We walked down the aisle together as husband, wife, and children—surrounded by sunshine, love, and the absolute certainty that our true story was just beginning.
