Vale Estate had exterior cameras.

Adrian remembered that before police did.

Garden.

Pool terrace.

Driveway.

Side gates.

The doghouse sat partly inside the garden-camera field.

Detective Reyes requested footage.

The camera stopped recording at 5:12 PM.

Adrian arrived at 5:37.

Twenty-five missing minutes.

System log:

Manual privacy mode enabled from Seraphine’s phone.

Seraphine’s attorney later argued she sometimes disabled cameras while swimming or entertaining guests.

True.

But not usually at 5:12 on a cool Thursday.

The pool camera remained active.

Its angle did not show the doghouse clearly.

It did show Seraphine walking across the lawn.

Maisie behind her.

Carrying Clara.

Seraphine held Maisie’s left forearm.

Maisie repeatedly pulled backward.

No audio.

Then they disappeared behind the hedge.

Eight minutes later Seraphine returned alone.

She walked into the mansion.

No urgency.

No panic.

No search for a missing child.

The video destroyed her initial story that Maisie had taken Clara outside independently.

Seraphine changed her account.

Now she admitted bringing the children to the doghouse.

She described it as “a misguided timeout.”

She denied intending to fabricate anything.

Then police showed her Maisie’s statement.

She told me to say I took Clara myself.

Seraphine said:

“Children misunderstand.”

Reyes asked:

“Did you latch the door?”

Pause.

“Yes.”

“Why?”

“To stop Maisie from running away with Clara.”

“While both were inside?”

“Yes.”

“You could have taken the infant.”

Seraphine said nothing.

That silence mattered.

The latch served no safety purpose.

Only control.
