The words remained on the screen.

*THE PERSON WHO CHANGED THE DNA RESULTS.*

Nobody spoke.

The wedding decorations still surrounded them.

The flowers.

The candles.

The elegant white aisle.

But the dream of a perfect wedding had disappeared.

Darius stared at the document title.

His voice was almost empty.

“DNA results?””

Nia’s eyes filled with tears.

Simone looked at her.

“You didn’t tell him.””

Nia looked back.

“Neither did you.””

Darius turned toward Simone.

“What does she mean?””

Simone looked uncomfortable for the first time all day.

“I…”

“No.””

Darius raised his hand.

“No more half answers.””

His voice carried across the ballroom.

“No more secrets.””

Ava stood between the adults, holding the microphone.

She looked smaller now.

The excitement of revealing the truth had disappeared.

She just wanted the fighting to stop.

Darius noticed.

He walked toward her.

“Ava, sweetheart, go sit with Mrs. Johnson for a minute.””

One of the older guests near the front nodded and opened her arms.

Ava looked at her mother first.

Nia nodded slowly.

“Go.””

Ava walked away.

But she kept looking back.

Because she knew something important was happening.

Something she had started.

Darius waited until Ava was farther away.

Then he turned back.

“Explain.””

Nia took a deep breath.

“It was years ago.””

“That doesn’t answer anything.””

“I was scared.””

“Of what?””

Nia looked at Simone.

Simone looked away.

Darius followed her gaze.

“You two are connected to this.””

Neither denied it.

That was worse.

Darius stepped toward the screen.

“Open the file.””

Nia immediately shook her head.

“Darius.””

“Open it.””

“Please.””

“Why are you asking me not to?””

Her silence answered him.

Darius looked at Simone.

“You too?””

Simone swallowed.

“I think there are things you should hear from us.””

“Then say them.””

The ballroom waited.

Simone slowly removed her wedding veil.

The movement shocked everyone.

It was no longer a bride preparing for a ceremony.

It was a woman preparing for a confession.

“I knew about the DNA test.””

Darius stared.

“What?””

Simone looked down.

“When I met you, you told me you had a daughter.””

“Yes.””

“You told me you had never gotten a chance to be there for her.””

Darius’s face tightened.

“Because Nia moved away.””

Simone nodded.

“That’s what you believed.””

The words hit him.

“What are you saying?””

Simone looked at Nia.

“Nia never told him the whole story.””

Nia’s voice became sharp.

“Don’t.””

“No.””

Simone shook her head.

“You wanted this moment to happen. You brought the drive here.””

Nia looked shocked.

“I brought it because I wanted him to know the truth.””

“Only your version.””

Darius looked between them.

“Someone tell me what happened.””

The room stayed silent.

Then Simone walked toward the microphone.

Her voice softened.

“The DNA test said Ava was not your biological daughter.””

Darius froze.

The world seemed to stop.

“No.””

Nia closed her eyes.

Darius looked at her.

“No.””

Nia whispered.

“Darius…”

“You’re saying she’s not mine?””

The question came out broken.

Nia’s tears fell.

“She is your daughter.””

“How?””

“I raised her.””

“That’s not what I asked.””

Nia couldn’t answer.

Simone stepped forward.

“The original results were changed.””

Darius looked at her.

“By who?””

Simone looked at the USB.

“That’s what the file says.””

Darius stared.

“Then open it.””

Nia shook her head.

“Not here.””

“Why not?””

“Because Ava is here.””

“She deserves the truth.””

“She deserves protection.””

Darius looked at her.

“Protection from what?””

Nia’s face tightened.

“The person who changed the results.””

A cold silence spread.

Darius looked at the screen.

“Who was it?””

Nia looked at Simone.

Simone looked back at her.

And suddenly, the tension between them changed.

It wasn’t hatred.

It was fear.

Darius noticed.

“You both know.””

Nobody spoke.

Then the DJ console made a sound.

A notification appeared.

The hidden document had loaded.

A name appeared at the bottom.

*Authorized by: Simone Williams.*

Darius looked up slowly.

The entire room turned toward the bride.

Simone went pale.

“That’s impossible.””

Darius stared.

“Your name is on it.””

Simone shook her head.

“No.””

“You said you knew about the DNA test.””

“I knew about the test.””

“Then why is your name here?””

Simone stepped closer.

“I didn’t do this.””

Darius’s eyes hardened.

“Then who did?””

Simone looked at the screen.

Her voice dropped.

“Someone who wanted you to hate Nia.””

The words confused everyone.

Nia looked at her.

“What?””

Simone’s eyes filled with tears.

“Because if you hated her…”

She looked at Darius.

“You would never ask why I came into your life.””

The room went silent.

Darius stared.

“What does that mean?””

Simone opened her mouth.

But before she could answer, the speakers suddenly turned on.

A new recording began loading.

A voice message.

And the first words came through the ballroom:

“Simone, if you are hearing this, it means the wedding failed…”

Simone’s face turned white.

Because she recognized the voice.
