Three days later, Victoria organized another private gathering.

She invited Anna personally.

The invitation seemed strange.

Anna almost refused.

But Daniel convinced her to go.

“If she thinks you're afraid, she'll become more aggressive.”

Anna wore a simple black dress.

When she entered the ballroom, every eye turned toward her.

Victoria smiled.

“How brave.”

Anna stopped.

“You invited me.”

“I wanted to apologize.”

The room became quiet.

Victoria approached.

“I behaved badly at the gala.”

Anna didn't respond.

Victoria held out her hand.

“Forgive me?”

Anna looked at the hand.

Then shook her head.

“No.”

Several guests gasped.

Victoria's expression hardened.

“You should be careful.”

“I've spent three years being careful.”

Anna stepped closer.

“I'm finished.”

Victoria's eyes narrowed.

“You don't know who you're challenging.”

“I know exactly who.”

Victoria suddenly slapped the glass from Anna's hand.

It shattered.

Then she grabbed Anna's arm.

“You think that little investigation will destroy me?”

Anna looked directly at her.

“No.”

Victoria smiled.

“Then what will?”

“The truth.”

Victoria froze.

Anna had secretly activated a recording device.

Every word was being captured.

Victoria continued.

“Your father should have kept his mouth shut.”

Anna's heart stopped.

“What did you say?”

Victoria realized her mistake.

But she continued.

“He was warned.”

“By whom?”

“My father.”

“And then?”

Victoria smiled coldly.

“He didn't listen.”

Anna felt tears forming.

“Did you know he was going to die?”

Victoria's expression changed.

She stepped backward.

“I didn't kill him.”

“But you knew.”

Silence.

Everyone in the room was watching.

Then Daniel entered.

Behind him were two investigators.

Victoria stared.

“What are they doing here?”

Daniel answered,

“Listening.”

Victoria's face went pale.

“You recorded me?”

Anna nodded.

“You wanted to humiliate me again.”

She looked around the room.

“But this time, everyone heard the truth.”

Victoria tried to leave.

Security blocked the door.

Then police officers entered.

Victoria stared at them.

“This is impossible.”

One officer showed her a warrant.

“You're being questioned in connection with financial fraud, intimidation, and obstruction of justice.”

Victoria looked at Anna.

“This isn't over.”

Anna didn't move.

“Yes, it is.”

Victoria was taken away.

But before leaving, she smiled.

“You still don't know the whole truth.”

Those words terrified Anna.

Because Victoria was right.

There was still one missing piece.

Who had ordered the cover-up?
