Thomas Reed disappeared the same night Victoria was arrested.
Daniel immediately realized what it meant.
Thomas wasn't simply an accomplice.
He was running.
Anna and Daniel searched the company records.
They discovered that Thomas had transferred money to Richard Blackwood for years.
But there was another name hidden inside the transactions.
Daniel's own uncle.
Edward Whitmore.
Daniel felt betrayed.
Edward had always treated him like a son.
He had attended his graduation.
He had helped him start the company.
He had been the person Daniel trusted most.
Daniel confronted him.
“Did you know my father was investigating Richard?”
Edward remained silent.
“Answer me.”
“Yes.”
Anna stepped forward.
“Did you know my father?”
Edward closed his eyes.
“Yes.”
“Did you help Richard?”
Edward finally looked at them.
“I did.”
Daniel's heart broke.
“Why?”
“Because I was afraid.”
“Of what?”
“Losing everything.”
Edward admitted that Richard had discovered financial crimes inside the company.
Instead of exposing him, Edward joined the scheme.
But Anna's father found evidence.
Richard wanted him silenced.
Edward said he tried to stop it.
“But I wasn't brave enough.”
Daniel stared at him.
“What happened that night?”
Edward began to cry.
“Your father confronted Richard.”
“And?”
“Richard threatened him.”
“Did Richard kill him?”
Edward shook his head.
“No.”
“Then who?”
Edward whispered,
“Thomas.”
The room became silent.
Thomas had staged the accident that killed Anna's father.
Richard covered it up.
Victoria later learned the truth and helped intimidate anyone who might expose them.
Edward had remained silent out of fear.
Daniel stepped backward.
“You let an innocent man take the blame.”
“I know.”
“You destroyed my family.”
“I know.”
Anna's eyes filled with tears.
“My father deserved justice.”
Edward nodded.
“He did.”
Then he handed Daniel a sealed envelope.
“This is everything.”
Inside were bank records, emails, recordings, and photographs.
Enough to prove the entire conspiracy.
But there was one more surprise.
Edward had secretly recorded Richard years earlier.
Richard's voice was unmistakable.
“Carter knows too much.”
Thomas answered,
“Then we make sure he can't talk.”
Anna closed her eyes.
For three years, she had wondered whether her father had died because of bad luck.
Now she finally knew.
It wasn't an accident.
It was a crime.
And the people responsible would finally face the consequences.
Edward surrendered himself to the authorities.
Thomas was arrested several days later.
